Therefore if any man be in Christ,
he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become
new. If the Son shall make you free,
you shall be free indeed.

Letter from the
Freedom Prison Ministries Administrator
The Gospel of Matthew gives the reader this glimpse of Jesus’ love for people: “But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” In cooperation with Concepts of Freedom Ministries, Inc., and Freedom Bible College and Seminary, Inc., Freedom Prison Ministries is doing her part to labor in the Lord’s harvest. Through revivals and special evangelistic services in the United States and abroad, affiliates of Freedom Prison Ministries are reaching thousands of inmates with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There are some tough cases, yes, and not all inmates will hear or receive the Gospel. That is to be expected. However we are seeing the lives of hundreds of men changed by encountering Jesus Christ. As a student of the criminal justice system, as well as a minister of the Gospel, I am convinced that only an encounter with Jesus Christ can truly offer abundant life in the here and now, and eternal life to come. Freedom Prison Ministries shares the love of Jesus Christ with correctional staff, incarcerated men, women, and children. We are going behind the prison walls to proudly proclaim that it is possible to give and receive forgiveness and to experience God’s love through Christ’s atoning death at the cross. It is available to all (no matter what their background) who are willing to change course and trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. And we are mentoring, teaching, and equipping the body of Christ that resides behind prison walls. But our vision for a tremendous harvest is greater than our current capacity to invest the time and labor. There is much more to be done. We realize that the harvest is plentiful, and the laborers are few. We intend keep working for the Lord. One of the developments this past year has been the establishment of a wonderful chaplaincy program, which is being offered through Freedom Bible College and Seminary. Available as either a professional certification or as a bachelor of ministry degree, the program includes ecclesiastical endorsement and will enhance the ministry credentials of anyone wishing to credibly answer the call to Christian chaplaincy. Not only are we praying that the Lord will send forth laborers, but that He will permit us to help train them for their important work. Some tremendous opportunities exist throughout
the United States and abroad to become involved in prison, jail and correctional
ministries. Please feel free to contact us if you care to partner with us
in establishing a Freedom Prison Ministries chapter in your state or country,
to gain credible chaplaincy training, or ministerial credentials. Joining
is easy and offers many benefits. You can learn more at our website, or simply
feel free to drop me a line. Freedom Bible College and Seminary also boasts
hundreds of exciting courses (and multiple degree programs) that will enhance
any prison or counseling ministries. FBCS also holds a wonderful annual graduation
and ministerial retreat conference, which includes workshops taught by highly
esteemed professionals, includes an ordination and licensure ceremony, plus
more. The field of prison ministry, and—in particular, Christian chaplaincy,
is one of the most exciting areas of ministry that you could ever get involved
in. Freedom Prison Ministries is a subsidiary ministry
of Concepts of Freedom Ministries, a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit ministry incorporated
in the state of Oklahoma in 1994. I wish you the best! |
